We got delicious food, in very large enough portions for a good price. The decoration could still be tweaked, but that's secondary.

Delicious variety We chose the restaurant at random during a vacation and it turned out to be a stroke of luck for us. My priorities are the food first, then the service, and finally the interior as follows. Let's start with the least important. The furnishings are from earlier times, but they are clean and largely match the style of the menu. We arrived shortly before the kitchen closed and were the last guests, but we still cooked for us. The service was very friendly and took time for us and our special requests. Now to the food. We only chose one dish that is not normally found on the menu. The “cabbage wrap” dish with salad was made extra vegan for us. It is an advantage if you have a real chef in the kitchen who knows his trade. In most restaurants today you hardly need to look at the menu, except to see the prices. Usually there is only meat and fish dishes that are briefly tossed into the pan or deep fryer. So it is all the more pleasant to come to a restaurant where there are other dishes on the menu. Although the focus of the restaurant is certainly on the "good bourgeois", I would recommend every vegan who is in Lindau to eat there.

Well, you can eat it! But at least got a seat without a reservation.

A very cozy restaurant with an extremely nice landlady. The hygiene regulations are implemented perfectly. The food (we had venison goulash and steak, Cup Denmark and warm chocolate cakes 😋) were excellent in taste and very plentiful. Super tasty fries! Finally, of course, the hazelnut schnapps that has often been mentioned here. Gigantic! We would love to come back !!

On our way from Bavaria to Switzerland we stopped in Lindau and ate at this traditional restaurant. We were the only guests at the time and had excellent service by a woman who was obviously one of the owners. The food was delicious and the portions were almost too large for me to finish. Much to my surprise I discovered Truthanschnitzel, turkey schnitzel, instead of the usual pork schnitzel. So good..... My friend and I enjoyed the old-school atmosphere. The dining room was like another reviewer mentioned, like being in someone's home in their personal dining room. Through a narrow passage you could enter the bar and sit at the counter as well.

Great atmosphere and amazing food!

The service is really atrocious, they forget what you order, no one welcomes you at the door, you have to ask 3 times to get a fork or some ketchup and even then, they being you the whole jar. The food was okay but really sub-par in comparison to what was expected. Don't go there.

Portions where filling and tasty service was good menu was in English felt like you where sitting at someone’s home

The restaurant gives a very Bavarian feeling. I ate here a couple of times and every time I took german schnitzel because I like it a lot. There are a couple of puzzles and other games for kids. The lady who was serving was very nice and friendly but she hardly speaks any English.

Prices are ok for what is served, but the quality of the food was very low. I ordered Schnitzel with fries and my friend fish with potatoes. We both could not finish it because of the taste

Decent restaurant with traditional German cuisine. We went there to eat one particular German dish ("Sauerbraten"). It is not on the menu currently, but the owner was so kind to prepare it for use. The staff is friendly, the interior is a bit dated, though.
